· In 1970 he received his engineer degree from the "Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications"
· in 1974 his PhD degree from the University of Paris with the silver-gilt medal "General Ferrié" awarded by the Doctor Engineer Association for his thesis work on modem adaptive equalisation.

Þ His responsibility : Product Development, Product Technical Support and Industrial Operation for the following product lines :
- X25,FRAME RELAY,ISDN DATA SWITCHES and CONCENTRATORS
Computer multi protocol emulation ( ASY,SNA, BSC, VIP,..), LAN bridging and routing- MULTISERVICE FRAME RELAY SWITCHES and CONCENTRATORS
integration of VOICE,fax,data & LAN traffic on a Frame Relay network- MULTIMEDIA ATM MULTIPLEXER and CROSS CONNECT
2 Mbit/s to 155 Mbit/s ATM trunks - Multi service and Multimedia (Voice,Video)- Voice band MODEMS ( 28.8-33.6 kbit/s) and ISDN Terminal Adaptors.
PREVIOUS POSITIONS
In Modem development , successively design engineer, section head, high speed modem manager and in 1983 head of the Data Transmission Department with 70 engineers to design modems,data multiplexes and network management products.
Hired as Modem Senior Director of Engineering by the US modem worldwide leading company RACAL MILGO, he had in charge with his 90 people design team the development of the new RACAL modem generation , 56 kbit/s DSU/CSU's, ISDN Terminal Adaptors.
- From end 1986 to 1987,he headed the Transmission Department, and was responsible for :
- Data Transmission: High speed echo cancellation modems , ISDN DSU/CSU and terminal adapters, data multiplexes
- Digital Transmission : PDH and DDS 64 kbit/s multiplexes, 34 Mbit/s TV coder.
- In 1988, in the new PHILIPS "International Product Business Unit" organisation, he was appointed Technical Director of the PHILIPS DATACOMMUNICATION Business Unit with the responsibility of data networking and transmission products :
- - Modems, ISDN Terminal Adapters, data multiplexes
- - X25 packet switches and multi protocol concentrators (SNA,DEC,BULL,..)
- - Data Network Management.
- In 1993, his responsibility was extended to ATM multiplexes and switches. He managed an overall design team of 150 people with 100 software engineers
- From 1994 to 1996, he took also the responsibility of the Data Communication "Product Technical Support" group, a technical team of 23 people, in charge of "pré and after sales" support to International sales organisations, to Operators and OEM customers.
